Indonesia Rebrands KOMINFO to KOMDIGI: Pioneering Digital Governance

Indonesia has rebranded its Ministry of Communication and Informatics (KOMINFO) to the Ministry of Communication and Digital (KOMDIGI), marking a significant shift in digital governance. Formalized through Presidential Regulation No. 174 of 2024 and Komdigi Regulation No. 1 of 2025, the restructuring introduces specialized directorates for e-government, artificial intelligence, and digital oversight to strengthen the country's digital economy while ensuring accountability and security.

The renaming from SDPPI to DJID impacts telecommunications and ICT equipment certification formats, aligning with broader regulatory changes like infrastructure sharing to enhance efficiency. These developments reflect Indonesia's ambition to modernize governance, integrate systems across agencies, and achieve a fully digital government by 2045.
