Saudi Arabia’s Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) has expanded its certification requirements for a range of electrotechnical devices, effective September 1, 2021.

In a recent announcement, Saudi Arabia’s Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) has extended the deadline for mandatory IECEE certification for certain electrotechnical products entering the Saudi market. Originally set to take effect on July 1, 2021, the deadline has been moved to September 1, 2021, giving importers and manufacturers additional time to comply.

Expanded IECEE Certification for Electro technical Products

The IECEE National Recognition Certificate is now required for a broader range of products to ensure they meet international safety and performance standards. SASO’s extension provides suppliers with additional time to complete the certification process, which has been mandated for the following products:

• Electric Pumps (up to 5HP capacity)

• Electric Power Cables

• Coffee Makers

• Electric Oil Fryers

• Water Boilers (Electric Kettles)

• Video Game Consoles and Accessories
