Thailand’s NBTC to Upgrade Wireless Microphone and DECT Standards
Thailand’s National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) is modernizing technical standards for Wireless Microphones and DECT systems to enhance efficiency and global compliance. The updates align Thailand’s telecom standards with global benchmarks, improving device compatibility, safety, and sector efficiency by reducing frequency congestion and supporting advanced technologies. A public hearing will ensure stakeholder input, reinforcing NBTC’s commitment to transparency and regulatory progress.
Key Updates:
Wireless Microphone Standards
The NBTC is updating standards to improve compatibility and reduce interference among wireless systems.
New criteria ensure devices comply with national and international frequency regulations, focusing on public safety and multi-channel support.
DECT Enhancements for Large Events
New standards for DECT systems in the 1880-1900 MHz band are being introduced, specifically for large-scale events.
These standards aim to ensure reliable communication during high-demand scenarios.
Certification and Testing Requirements
Devices must meet specific testing standards:
FCC RF & SAR reports are required for WCDMA B5/LTE B5 devices.
CE test reports are mandatory for LTE Band 41 devices.
FCC RF reports are needed for WLAN devices in the 5.8GHz band.
These measures ensure equipment safety and compliance with global standards. Official announcement could be accessed from here.
