The Jordan Telecommunications Regulation Commission (TRC) has recently implemented amendments to the conditions and procedures for obtaining Type Approval of Telecommunication Equipment and Regulating their Entry into the Kingdom. These revisions include:

- Updated Type Approval Application Form.

- Extension of certificate validity to 3 years.

- Mandatory requirement for labels, with E-labels being permissible.

- Inclusion of manufacturer name and address, brand/model/type, commercial name, and IMEI numbers for devices with Cellular Modules.

Furthermore, the revised list of exempted devices comprises:

- Televisions and monitors (with or without RF function).

- GPS navigation devices (without SIM card).

- Switches, firewalls, and servers.

- Printers (with or without RF function).

- Laptops, tablets, PCs (with or without RF function).

- Remote controls with infrared.

- Devices solely equipped with Bluetooth technology.

- Wired or wireless cameras.

Jordan TRC now allows voluntary type approval for devices exempt from mandatory approval. It is also important to note that products with GSM/UMTS/LTE capabilities are not exempt.
