In Pakistan, Radio and Telecommunication Equipment is subject to mandatory Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) Type Approval before import, production and use to ensure wireless regulatory compliance. There are few exemptions to this Approval scope which are presented on this page below. Relevant test reports as per applicable test standards along with DoC and technical literature are required.

Required Items/Documents:
- Technical Literature of Device (User Manual, Specifications/Data Sheet, Operational Description)
- Declaration of Conformity (DoC)
- RF,EMC,Health and Safety Test Reports as per applicable Test standards
- GSMA TAC Letter(for cellular devices)
- Mandatory IMEI registration for the cellular device samples
- Formal Import Permit Issuance (NOC/COC) for the device samples
Sample Requirements: One Sample required mandatory
Approval Validity: Permanent
In-country Testing Requirements: Hardware, Software, Firmware and OS based testing performed in-country by Authority
Local Representation : Required. Includes handling all customs clearance and duties/taxes payments along with managing Import Permit issuance procedures
Labelling Requirement: Yes. "Approved by PTA" and Approval No./Certificate No. required on all approved devices
